margin of safety = factor of safety - 1 in this factor of
safety is the ratio of ultimate stress to actual stress
while evaluating the factor of safety the considering
conditions are factor of safety must be >= 1

i think margin of safety is nothing but fcator of safety.
factor of satfety is defined as the ratio of ultimate
stress to allowable stress and it should be always greater
than one
