Why crystal oscillator at 11.59MHz is used in Interactive
voice responce circuit.

In such circuits the frequency is internally divided by 12
to get 0.965MHz...(11.59/12=.965).
It is done so becoz the time required to fetch,decode &
execute instructions is about 1.0852 microseconds.Hence the
frequency would be 1/1.0852=0.924 MHz which is nearly equal
to 0.965 Mhz.
