when the mobile is switched on, it sends an activation
signal to the nearest BTS. BTS send back a signal to get
the information about the type of connection needed by the
MS. the MS sends a request to connect to a desired server.
BTS request the MSC to provide the authentication to the
MS. BTS reads the details such as IMEI number etc to
authenticate the connection.

whenever a cell phone is switched on it first searches for
the control channel WITH MAX STRENGTH from all the nearby
base stations. coz control channels are the channels
responsible for call setup(call initiation) etc. and hence
get connected/tuned to that control channel
