ELR or commonly known to be EL CB . all 3phsaes and netral
of the incommin supply passs throuh oone ring type ct so
that there will be no current in CT secondary if there is
healthy system but in case there is a ground fault at load
end the cT will record the unbalance current and the relay
will sence the fault.beacuse durring ground fault the fault
curent will pas througth ground to the sourcr insted of
throug the neural inside the ring CT.

ELR is earth leakage relay.this is very sensible for leakage.and this is generally used in panel for protection if MCCB.

Just I want to know about ELR. We have connected ELR With Incoming panel(800A). That ELR is getting Trip within Seconds. Equipments are not getting any Earth Leakages. No shock effect from equipments… I am not able to Understand what is exact problem..Pls Let me know Reason.

Please clarify, 1. Is it required to lay two runs of GI wire along with Armoured LT cable if it is laid between one big mains (63Amps TPN SDF) to small main (32A TPN SDF) with proper glanding termination? 2. If the armoured cable with proper glanding is laid from DB to CNC machine, is it required to run two runs of body earthing to the Machine from DB? 3.If the armoured cable with proper glanding is laid from Substation to Hangar, distance is approx. 100 mtrs, is it required to do earthing at shop area though the primary termination at substation is earthed through gland.
