performance is the measure of quality of the work done by
any machine. better is the quality better will be the
performance of that machine.
while efficiency is the ratio of desired output
to the required input for any
machine.

performance is the rate at which the machine is working.for
ex no of units produced per hr.if the ratio is more then
performance of that machine is said to be high

efficiency is defined as the input given and the work
obtained from that input.for ex some kW of power is
consumed by the machine and that machine is producing some
amount of work with that power.now convert power and work
output into cost and find out the ratio.this ratio is
termed as efficiency

other,now performance means whether machine is able to
convert it or not & efficiency means how effectively it
is able to convert

ability or level whereas efficiency of comparison of it's
actual performance to a standard set performance level.

Performance is measured whereas efficiency is calculated.

Performance is about the quality that a machine or plant is
producing suppose there are two machines, first produces
the job of accuracy .002mm and the second one produce
product of the acuuracy .001mm. then the second one will
hav higher performance.
while efficiency is the ratio of the o/p to the i/p. if
same machines are producing 200 and 100 product per day
respectively for the same i/p,then the eff. of the first
machine will be high

stream of production with the utilization of resources,
where as efficiency how well the line/machines have run
with respect to the desired or planned target.

i,e,. performance = target output/gross production hrs

efficiency = target output/net production hrs
