Share Capital: It means the capital raised by the issue of
shares. The Amount invested by the shareholders towards the
face value of shares is collectively known as share
capital. It can be divided into Three Categories:
1) Authorized Capital
2) Issued Capital
3) Subscribed Capital
Authorized Capital: This is the maximum limit of company
which is authorize to raise and beyond which company cannot
raise unless the capital clause in the memorandum is
altered in accordance to the provision of companies act
1956.
Issued Capital: An Issued capital refers to nominal value
of that part of authorized capital which has been
subscribed for by the signatories to the Memorandum of
Association or allotted for cash or for consideration other
than cash or allotted as bonus share.
Subscribed Capital: Subscribed Capital refers to the paid-
up value of the issued capital.

1. Nominal Authorized or Registered Capital
Nominal authorized or registered capital means the sum
mentioned in the capital clause of Memorandum of
Association (say Rs. 10,00,000/- i.e. Ten Lakhs). It is the
maximum amount, which the company raises by issuing the
shares and on which the registration fee is paid. This
limit cannot be exceeded unless the Memorandum of
Association is altered.
2. Issued capital
Issued capital means that part of the authorized capital,
which has been offered for subscription to members (say Rs.
5,00,000/- i.e. Five Lakhs) and includes shares allotted to
members for consideration in kind also.
3. Subscribed capital
Subscribed capital means that part of the issued capital at
nominal or face value which has been subscribed or taken up
by purchaser of shares in the company and which has been
allotted (say Rs. 4,00,000/- i.e. Four Lakhs).

Authorised Capital is the Maximum Amount of Capital you can issue.say 1 crore
Issued Capital is the part of Authorised Capital issued for shareholders to subscribe. say 50 Lacs
Subscribed Capital is the capital that the shareholders agrees to pay. say only 49 lacs shares have been subscribed.
Paid Up Capital is the Capital that shareholders actually pays and only paid up capital will reflect in books
