We dont actually create prompts in FM.
There is a property known as Prompt for each Query Item
(field/column name). You just set this property to the
required prompt type.
After the properties are set, you publish the package.
In Report Studio, you just drag and drop this Query Item and
define a filter with ?Query_Item?. You can set the Data
Format for the Query Item here.

This is the syntax for prompts, you can use the use value
as well.
use prompt many when u use 'in' operator in the filter.

If you want to create a prompt in a FWM, goto queryItem and
just slect the field for which you want a prompt and keep
as follows:-
For eg if you want to keep prompt for product location
select that in Qurey Item and keep as
product location=?some text?
and test....
