when we substitue the formula 12*(n-2)=> 12*(4-2)=24)

we have a simple formula to find all these
no of cubes unpainted will be (n-2)^3
no of cubes painted one side is 6(n-2)^2
no of cubes painted on two sides 12(n-2)
no of cubes painted three sides is always 8
for a complete cube
n denotes the cube dimension
eg n=4 here(since dimension is 4*4*4)

1face in a 4x4 side single face is 4nos so total 6sides 24nos
2face in total 6side 8nos of 2sided edges;1edge 2 faced paint then 8x2 16nos
3face in total vertices or top edges are 8only so 3faces are 8nos
4face is not possible after the 64 nos split-ed
0face is the centre part apart from 1x4 of a side & from 6sides so in 4sides 4x4x2side+2x4x2side+top 4+bottom 4=56nos painted so 64-56=8nos in centre not painted.
