3 boys go to the restaurant. Their bill was 75 rs..
So they contributed 25 each. Manager then gives 5 rs back
to the waiter and then waiter gave 3 rs back to them and
put 2 rs into his pocket..
So their actual contribution is 24 because they got 1-1 rs
back. so 24*3=72 and 2 rs into the waiter's pocket. so
74+2=74
where is 1 rs?

Answer / sourabh jadhav

The ans is like this.....there is nothing like suming in this
There is just a distraction in the last line....the solution goes like this
The boys pay rs.75
The manager gives waiter rs.5
The waiter gives
Boy 1-rs.1 Boy 2-rs.1 Boy 3-rs.1 and keeps rs 2 in his pocket (1+1+1+2+70=75)
The distraction was 24*3=72 and rs.2 in waiter's pocket(72+2=74)

3 boys go to the restaurant. Their bill was 75 rs.. So they contributed 25 each. Manager then gives..

Answer / siddharth shankar paikray

There expense actually turns out to be INR.70.
✓ After the manager allows the discount of INR.5 there share in the expense stands at INR.70/3 each.
✓ There share in the discounted amount of INR.3 after the waiter's nick of INR.2 remains INR.1 each.
✓ Summing all up we'll have,
Share in expense + share in discount + waiter's nicked amt.
= 70/3 + 70/3 + 70/3 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 75.
That's it!

3 boys go to the restaurant. Their bill was 75 rs.. So they contributed 25 each. Manager then gives..

Answer / prashanth

If u calculate mathematically then it comes 23.33333

but think in this way.. 25 had given each because they dint
knew the discount 5 rs. so Manager had given 5 rs back to
the waiter to give it to the customer. But waiter will keep
2 rs and give 3 rs back to 3 customers. so finally each each
will get 24 rs per head.

no u calculate back.. 24*3+2.. that will come 74 Rs.. how
come!! where went wrong!!

3 boys go to the restaurant. Their bill was 75 rs.. So they contributed 25 each. Manager then gives..

Answer / ripudaman kochhar

this is only how mathematics is used to create puzzle

in actual every above answer will be wrong if you like as it
is in question.don't give your ways like 75-2=73,so actual
contribution is 23.33,go as it is given in question.

hmm actually what is here if you see question we are
subtracting 3 from 75 then adding 2 to left 72 ultimately
answer will be 24 so now you can know where is Re 1

Ali Baba had four sons, to whom he bequeathed his 39 camels, with the proviso that the legacy be divided in the following way : The oldest son was to receive one half the property, the next a quarter, the third an eighth and the youngest one tenth. The four brothers were at a loss as how to divide the inheritance among themselves without cutting up a camel, until a stranger appeared upon the scene. Dismounting from his camel, he asked if he might help, for he knew just what to do. The brothers gratefully accepted his offer. Adding his own camel to Ali Baba's 39, he divided the 40 as per the will. The oldest son received 20, the next 10, the third 5 and the youngest 4. One camel remained : this was his, which he mounted and rode away. Scratching their heads in amazement, they started calculating. The oldest thought : is not 20 greater than the half of 39? Someone must have received less than his proper share ! But each brother discovered that he had received more than his due. How is it possible?
