To save copper in tems of money because in star connection
phase vol = line voltage / root three
and to protect generator form earth fault eseily and more
effective by provide generator neautral earhing via
neautral or star point

Answer / suseendran
Because the voltage in each phase will be 1.732 times the
generated voltage, design and insulation becomes simple easier.

Answer / sandeshg
when voltage reduces(because of star) on line the current reduces hence conductor size also reduces. whenever conductor size reduces loss are minimized.

Transformer Parallel Operations
should Dy11 and Dy1 group can be operated in parallel??????
what will happen if we double the input frequency of a transformer keeping the voltage constant?
how net resistance islow in star connection and viseversa in delta connection...? if anybody could explain in detail it wud be helpful.
WHY TRANSFORMERS ARE RATED IN 11KV 22KV 33KV Instead off 10kv 20kv 30kv
Pure inductive ckt takes power from AC when 1. Applied voltage and Current increases 2. applied voltage and current decreses 3. voltage decreases and current decreases please justify
