facts and dimensions are considered according to the
project requirement ,we cant say particular number ,its
depend upon the project environment ,if you want to know
more about fact and dimensions ,Cognos provides default GO
sale package by using that you will be able to get your
answer.

here are some facts and dimensions:

Dimensions are time, products, retailer type, activity
desc, sale staff, and retailer type, return reson, order
method, order header, sales staff...Etc

Fact is sales target, closing inventory, expected volume,
activity, return quantity, revenue,
Quantity, gross profit, netincome, lossess, margin, product
cost, unit cost, unit price, unit sale pruce...etc.

There is no mandatory for maintain Dimension and Facts.

We cant specify.why bcz its depends on clent requirement
itself they will tell everything.

Normally u can say like this

Dimensions------> we have Product Dimension,
Time Dimesion,
Country Dimension,
Customer Dimension,
Order Deimension,
Shippers Dimension,
Order Details Dimension,
Inventory Dimension,

Facts------------> We have Sales
Fact,Revenue,Discounts,Quantity,Price etc................

Hi Pinky....

To identify dimensions and fact tables we no need to have
real time exp. Just Assume few dimensions and think for
proper justifications according to ur Project.” But Stick
to Basic Concepts".

My Assumptions

Dimensions are Products, Location(Area),Time, Employees,
Retailers or Dealers, Inventory, Logistics.....etc

Fact (Measures)
Sales target, Returned Sales, Purchase Returns
Revenue, Quantity, gross profit, net income, losses,
margin, Fright, operational cost
unit cost, unit price...etc.

What's the limitation of 'Page Footer' in Report Studio? e.g. If I have an activity prompt (list of activities in a Search & Select Prompt) and selected around 2500 activites from the 'Activity' Search & Select Prompt and when I ran the report I got a message "#! Overflow" in page footer. Can somebody please tell me what's max. limit. I tried with around 300 activities and page footer displayed the activities. Your help will be appriciated.

Hi, I got a requirement wehre in in a drill through report , in parent report i have a column of numbers on which i have to apply drill through to child report.The condition is in that column if the number ia not zero the drill through link should appear (i.e., 1 to 9) if its 0 or negative number link should not appear. How ? Help would be appreciated
