The length of the base of a triangle is three times the
height. The area of the triangle is 24 square inches.

Area of triangle = 1/2 bh
b=3 times of height, i.e., 3h
h=?
b=3h
A= 24
A=1/2bh
24=1/2*3h*h
48=1*3h2 (when bases are same power should be added)

Square root of h=4
b=3*h=3*4=12

so 1st we find out
a=1/2*3*h2 (h2=h square)
24=1/2*3*h2
24*2=3*h2
48/3=h2
16=h2
so h=4
but we want length b
and b=3*4=12
so ans is 12

if we consider height as h, and lenght as l
then
given height= 3* lengh
Area of triangle = 1/2*h*l;
if we consider lengh = x, then
heigh = 3x
so 24=1/2* X * 3X;
3X(sqaure)= 48;
so X(squr) = 48/3;
i.e X=4;
so lenght = 4;
and height = 3 * 4 = 12 ;

24^2=3\2*h^2
taking sq.root on both sides
24=[(3\2)^1\2]*h
24*[(2\3)^1\2]=h
h=19.56 1nch
hence b=3*h
=>b=3*19.56
b=58.78 inch
