Load testing:load testing estimate the speed in process or
performance depends on the customer expectation
configaration and customer expected load.
Stress testing to estimate the peak load under the customer
expected configuration and more than customer expected load
is called stress testing.

Load Testing - Testing an application with heavy loads..i.e
testing a website with a range of loads to determine the
system response time degrades or fails
Stress Testing - Testing system functionality when the
system is in unusally peak stress;it is similar as
validation testing,but carried on heavy stress Env..

In both the cases we will be testing the application with
load only (may be below the max or up to max load) but the
difference is Load testing is with Think time where as
Stress Test is With out think time.( Think time is delay
time of user action(s) while recording the script)
