During this testing testing team validates whether the
application is build is customer expected plotform or
not.or whether the application is capabilly of runing or
not in different environmentes.----software configuration
or hardware configuration.

Compatability testing means testing the application build
on different platforms whether the application build is
able to run on different platforms or not.
platforms means O/S,Browsers,Compilers,Other system
software.
There are 2 types of Compatibility testing...
Forward Compatability
Backward Compatability.
suppose executing a build on unix o/s which is developed in
Microsoft Languages like VB.Forward compatability
executing the lower versions of s/w on higher versions of
platforms......Backward compatability.

As there are different builds for every version & any build can release to the client.I m using Excell sheet for Test Case writting. Then Am I write Version No/build No.newly added feature test cases. Because when that build again release for testing I can understand that this build have that feature.
