Disadvantages of Hadoop serialization include: 1) Inefficient use of memory due to Object Serialization, as each object is serialized and deserialized for every operation. 2) Serde (Serializer/Deserializer) implementation for each data type is required, which can be a time-consuming process. 3) Higher overhead compared to other formats like Parquet or ORC.
