In the transmission system consists of generating the AC
power in the generation station to convert DC power.
then transmitted the DC power through the transmission
line and they again invert DC to AC.
The AC power is distribute to the consumers.
AC power didn't transmitted in long transmission because of
losses is higher compare to DC transmission

I need to compare the energy consumption of an industrial machine before and after improving. Shall I compare the apparent power or the active power? I know usually factories use compensated capacitors (or other similar components) to compensate the reactive power, so if I use the apparent power, it's not the real power consumed.
