Answer / rajkumar
For buying a nut we have to specify somewhat like this M8x2
where M stands for metric,8mm stands for diameter and 2
denotes the pitch of the thread.

Answer / yesm
first you give size of nut or bolt as M10,M25 etc
second you mention pitch if want fine pitch then M10X1 or
standard
third you mention class of nut ie applicable load as example
Class 5.8
it means its UTS is 500 Mp and yeild strength is 80% or 0.8
of uts.
that is sufficient

All have tried to near the answer....
Usually Engineers do have some logic & common sense.
1) Nuts and bolts are used for fastening to a tight a seal
properly without leak or to fasten to prevent unnecessary
vibration. For that we have to tighten based on the torque
that a bolt & nut can withstand.
So selecting the bolt for the required application reuires
the customer to specify CLASS like 4.6, 5.8 etc...
Usually class represeent the material composition of the
nut and bolt.... Greater the value specified will have
higher strength...
2) For buying a nut, any person can offord to buy a nut
also together... this is to prevent the ease of assembly...
No need to mention pitch... Only u have to mention the
class and the size like M12, M16....

Answer / shuhaib mushtaq.
simplly the size of the nut eg,M10, M25
or about the ultimate tensile strength UTS of nut as 3.5,
it means 300Mp UTS & 50% is yield strength

Answer / shaikh arif
by specifing the size of the nut as per the requirement.
for e.g m12 for 12mmdiameter nut & if pitch is also
imortant then specify the pitch with the diameter like
M12mltipyby(pitch.e.g 2mm)

Answer / narendra
basically you give the standard size of nut i.g. M8 which
is gives us the dia. of nut then you told him its pitch
after then the bearing load of nut.
| Is This Answer Correct ? | 2 Yes | 3 No |
Answer / davender
Just give his part number and quantity so simple
| Is This Answer Correct ? | 0 Yes | 1 No |
Answer / arun
you give the size of the nut and then the material if it is
SS or MS and if necessary the pitch. In most cases they
dont ask for the pitch as it is a standard
