Distinctive character of Organic Chemistry ?..

Answer / guest

Presence in large number:-Organic compounds are present in
large number because carbon atom has peculiar property to
combine with itself forming long chains

Close relationship between them:-There is close relationship
between different compounds of organic chemistry

Complexity of molecules:-Organic compounds are highly
complex having higher molecular than that of inorganic
compounds.

Isomerism:-Organic compound which are represented by same
molecular formula are known as Isomerides and this
phenomenon is known and Isomerism

Polymerism:-When two or more compounds have same empirical
formula the molecular formula of one being some simple
multiple of that of other

Non-ionic nature:-Organic compounds do not ionize in
solution. These are covalent in nature

Rate of organic reaction:-is generally slow because these
are reactions of molecules not of ions

Structure:-Structure of organic compounds are well established

Organic solvents:-Organic compounds are mostly insoluble in
water bur these are soluble in organic solvents
