Leading power factor means what? what is the power factor value while in power factor is leading? is power factor greater than one? In some cases i heard pf 0.8 leading then what about 0.8 lagging?
Answer / adnan
Power factor is cos of angle between voltage and current. Leading and laagging of pf means, if current is leading voltage or behind voltage.
To understand leading and lagging of voltage and current refer to sinusoidal graph of voltage and current.
PF can never be more than 1, as value of cos (phi) never exceeds 1.
