The term M20 in Civil Engineering is nothing but the Grade of Concrete. In this 'M' defines Mix and '20' is compressive strangth of concrete after 28 days curing.

M20 = 20mm diameter bolt
e.g.
M16 = 16mm diameter bolt... et. al.
