why the power factor is low at no load?
Because at no load, the only significant current component is Excitation current which is 90 degree out of phase with the supply voltage. Since pf = cos(@) and @ is around 90 here, power factor is very low.

I have a small system with two motors that are running on 380 vac, 60 hz. These motors are expensive and I usally get them from Brazil. I am adding another motor to the system, but I want to purchase a 480 vac, 60 hz motor to use. It will be on a VFD that is rated fro 380 thru 480. Is this posible and will I have to use a larger motor and derate it?

what is the use of providing earthing for tanks? i know for lightning we use earthing ? Here one of my ONGC project there is no need of lightning protection and there is no power connection near by tank in that situation also ONGC asking earthing for tanks but we didn't understanding why they asking earthing? is anybody tell exact answer?
