positioner sets the controlvalve stem % open or % close as per command and the position transmitter sends the feedback of % open or % close in control valve to the dcs

Positioner is device which is used to given the position of the control valve 25% 50% 75% 100% and Transmitter is send the feed back signal to the DCS.
