how to know the URL and LRL for steam drum level and why the
calibration range is in negative ?
Answer / sreedhar
First Measure The Height Of The Drum From HP To LP. For Example If It Is 500 mm. Then The LRV is -500 mmh20. URV Is 0 mmh20. Because It Is Steam It Will Condensate So We Have To Use Wet Leg. If There Is No Level In Drum, We Will Fill The LP Impulse Line With Water So 500 mm pressure Will Act In LP Side So It Shows 0% Level. When The Level Starts To Raise In The Drum The HP Pressure Will Increase And It Will Show The Corresponding Level.
