At what STAGE you start writing TEST CASES for a project..? And at which STAGE you stop writing T..

We start writing test case once the test planning or the
Test approach document is prepared based on the
requirement. First the test design should be prepared and
reviewed. Once we start testing we our senario may fail or
we may see the new senarios which we can ammend in the
during execution. Test case design will be stopped once the
funtionality is defect free.
