Overlap length of reinforcement by wielding is 15d i.e 15 times the diameter of bar. Wielding will be carried out for Top 5d and bottom 5d. i.e there will be a gap of 5d in between.

Overlapping length is based on the factor of 40 times the
diameter of reinforcement to be used.
example, for 20mm diam steel reinforcement the lap length is
800mm
