In r12 orale introduced new concept called multi org access
control. In multi org access control we can logon in
multiple operating units from single responsbility. And
also in 11i legal entity used for reporting tax but in r12
it is used for reprting purpose and also operating
transactions and also bank information attached to legal
entitiy

11i....> in 11i setbooks concept is there.
now changed to setbook concept in r12 ledgers. ere 4cs r
there like 1)currency
2)coa
3)calender
4)convention of accounting methode
11......> in 11i there is management segment.
R12.....> in r12 it has been introduced management segment.
11i.....> in 11i no data accesses set.
r12.....> it has been introduced in data access set in12.
11i.....> no ledger set in 11i
R12.....> it has been introduced ledger set in r12.
11i.....> in MRC concept is there.these mrc r used to only
8 currencies ,
R12.....> these mrc concept changed to rcl(reporting
currency ledger) here no of currencies r used.
11i......> 11i in period open not there(no target period)
r12......> in R12 we have target period.
11i......> there is intra company segment.
R12......> r12 has been introduced in intracompany segment.

Deference between 11i and R12,
GL: KFFs (in 11i we have 2 but in R 12 we have 3 kffs )
like Accounting kffs,Reporting attribute and general ledger kffs.
Flexfiled Qualifiers: in 11i we have 5 but in r12 6.
In MRC in 11i we have limitation like up to 8 set of books but in r12 there is no limitation.
ASM Accounting setup manager, here we have to create directly LE and OUs.
ASM is a centralised activity like ledgers, LEs,OUs, Intercompany.
11i combinations 3 c,s called as a SET OF BOOKS but in R12 its combination of 4 C's Called LEDGER like...
Calender, currency, Chart of accounts and accounting convention method.
MOAC : MOAC is nothing but Multi org access control.
we can access the multiple operating units information trough single responsibilities,
here we have to use 2 profile options, those are ...
1.Security profile: if we have 1 Business Group
2.Global security profile : If we have multiple BG'S.
AP: 1.In 11i we have 2 options
But in R12 we have 3 options like..
Financial options, payable options, payable system optios.
2.In R12 newly added two invoices like..
1. retanaige release invoice
2. Transportaion Invoice
3.Line various conset is newly added in R12.
4.AP/AR Netting : When customer become a supplier at that time we need to do netting for payments or receipts.
5.Create Accounting programme
6.TCA: Trading community archiotechture:
7.Different bank templets.
8.SLA : Sub ledger accounting method: here we have to create our own accounting methods and accounting rules.
9. 11i legal entity is the owner of Bank account but in R12 Operating unit is the Owner of bank account.
AR:
1.AP/AR Netting : When customer become a supplier at that time we need to do netting for payments or receipts.

3.TCA: Trading community archiotechture:

5.SLA : Sub ledger accounting method: here we have to create our own accounting methods and accounting rules.
Multi org structure: Here we can access the multiple companies informations through single database or single instance is called as maulti org structure.

BG--> SET OF BOOKS--> LEGAL ENTITY--> OPERATING UNIT--> INVENTORY.
R12:
BG--> LEDGERS--> LEGAL ENTITY--> OPERATING UNIT--> INVENTORY.

in 11i we can not use multiple organization but in r12 to
use multiple organization at least one legal entity
it is major difference.

In addition to above...
The Reversal accrual entries dated immediate first day of
the next period are generated straight way in R12 whereas
in 11i it genertes after closure of current accounting
period.
Secondry segment tracking is introduced in R12 whereas it
was not there in 11i
AP/AR Netting is the new functionality added in R12.
Refunding in AR could be done in R12...which was a
cumbersome task in 11i.
New Intercompany Functionality has been introduced in R12
