in a cylinder filled with any gas,if we attach two pressure gauges one at bottom and one is at top...

Answer / bob

NO... if the gauges are sensitive enough, the mass of the
gas in the cylinder will exert an added hydrostatic value.
Diffenence on the Bottom pressure gauge will be higher as
it will record the pressure plus the gas mass (hydrostatic
value) - Bottom PG will show a higher pressure (pressure +
hydrostatic value of gas in the cylinder)

Considering no mass transfer, no heat transfer and isolated cylinder ...

The pressure readings will be the same. Because fluid exerts pressure in same magnitude at all directions.

in a cylinder filled with any gas,if we attach two pressure gauges one at bottom and one is at top...

Answer / srikant

Yes because the mass of the gas in the cylinder may be
negligible. But if there is some mass of the gas in the
cylinder, diffenence should be there, equal to the mass.
Bottom PG will show higher press.
