it means Automatic Voltage Regulator. It does this using a
very small portion of the generators output, and converting
that AC voltage into a DC current that is inversely
proportional to the generators output voltage (once it
reaches full voltage)

AVR is Aoutomatic Voltage Regulator as we all Know.Function
of AVR is Maintain all Electrical Parameter like Voltage
Frequecy etc. of output of Generator . it take feed back
for sensing of electrical parameter from Primemover Wheel
RPM.
Mainly AVR is a Compact unit who maintian Output voltage of
Generator.

i have a 4 Mva transformer 34.5 kv / 480-277 v and i used 2 parallel 3200 amp bus duct for the secondary feeder using 3 ply of bus bar ( 3/8" x 5" ) as a common where the flexible link terminated and 6300 amps breaker for the main, the lower bus duct reaches 70 degrees and the upper bus duct reaches 55 degrees when i used thermal scanner. why the temperature is not balance when the load reaches 3600 amps.
can you any one give exact mathematical relation between AC current and DC current?
Is it necessary to carry out sheath test after cable jointing? If the value is zero of such instance , is it ok to energize the cable?
Why the vector group of excitation transformer in static excitation system is Dy5?
How can we do megger test of cable??
how the rotating magnetic fieldis produced in induction machines??? give the correct explanation.is there any mathematical expression for the same?
what is servo motor & how does it work.
what is the safe meggar values for motor, transformer HT, LT and Cables? IF we want to replace I/C bay at our 220 kv substation which is of 140 mw load capacity bay to be replaced by 400 mw capacity bay.other than CT(1200/1) what are the other equipment i have to replace. why we generally use 3.5 core cable or in other word 1/2 core for neutral and also confirm me that in balance conditiob(3 phase)current in neutral will zero
Does the ELCB or RCCB trip when it is connected to a primary side of a welding transformer?
when ur using single phase type of load for a 3.5core power cable .Why neutral is .5 and how much current in the neutral if we consider neutral as a reverse path for three phases.
