hi i am working in a civil Lab .....they asked me to find out the compressive strength of concrete ..

Answer / shyam sundar mondal

205KN =205X1000=205000 N
=205000/9.81=20897.043KG/225=92.875kg/cm^2

hi i am working in a civil Lab .....they asked me to find out the compressive strength of concrete ..

Answer / engr adnan khan

its so simple dear.
1st calculate the area of cube which you used during test. For example. 15cm*15cm=25cm^2
Covert 205kn to 205000newtons
Now convert 2 kg.
205000/9.81=20897.044kg now divide by area
20897.044/225=92.875kg/cm^2

hi i am working in a civil Lab .....they asked me to find out the compressive strength of concrete ..

Answer / asad ali

let suppose you have given cube size is (6*6*6 inch)or(15*15*15 cm) OK
we know we that 1N = 1kg.m/sec.sq.....(1)
first we convert KN to N OK
25KN = 25000N
according to physical equation F=ma or W=Mg......(2)
m=mass , g= gravitational force = 9.81m/sec.sq OK
so according to eq (1)
25000N=25000kg.m/sec.sq
there fore divide the (g) \
25000kg.m/sec.sq
---------------------- = 2548.41kg OK
9.81m/sec.s
and the given area of cube = 15*15 = 225cm.sq
stress in conc: cube = 2548.41kg
-----------
225cm.sq
stress = 11.326Kg/cm^2
OK
