The product of normal system voltage and short circuit
current at the point of fault is fault level and is equal to
3 Vph(normal) x Isc for symmetrical fault in 3 phase
system.It is expressed in KVA or MVA

strength to bear the enormour fources and heat developed by
short circuit current. To revamp a systm from 40 KA to 50
KA capacity, more no. of insulator suppors are required
