it are two types i.e. halfwave & fullwave. halfwave means
half cycle of d.c. &fullwave means full cycle of d.c.

It converts AC to DC but It is also used in DIODE AS A
RECTIFIER bcos in diode current flows in forward bias(as a
closed switch) and it blocks current in Reverse bias(as a
open switch).... So diode works as a RECTIFIER...
