The exertion of force upon a surface by an object, fluid,
etc., in contact with it.Pressure can also be defined as
Force per Unit area. It is measured in N/sq m.
The action on a body of any system of balanced forces
whereby strain or deformation results. It can also be
defined as "The internal resistance or reaction of an
elastic body to the external forces applied to it".It is
measured in N/sq m.

pressure is the external
applied force per unit area
and stess is developed
internally in the material

Pressure is the external force acting over a unit surface
area of a material.
Stress is an internal force acting over a cross sectional
area within the material.
It may also be thought of as the internal resistive
response of a material to the applied external pressure.
They both have the units of force / area.

When th force or load acting on the fluid(pnuematic or
hydraulic)per unit area is known as PRESSURE.. its purely
subjected to fluids........
when th force or load acting on the object(solid) within th
elastic limit of an object create internal resistance to
resist th apply load. that internal resistance is known as
STRAIN for per unit area of that object.. Its mainy
subjected to solids...

PRESSURE: WHEN THE FORCEIS APPLIED IT DEVELOPS IN THE FLUIDS.
STRESS:WHEN THE FORCE IS APPLIED IT DEVELOPS IN THE SOLIDS.
