Layer 2 delivers the bitstreams, i.e., node to node delivery.
It frames every bitstreams.It maintains error and flow
control in the frames,such as resending of the lost frames.
Layer 3,the transport layer which provides 'source to
destination' delivery in the "packets".It provides 'service
point addressing',there by delivering the packets to the
destination.

Layer2 switch can have only one SVI Interface while Layer3
can have multiple SVI Interfaces.
Layer2 works on Mac Adress while Layer3 works on IP address
also.
You can assign IP address on Layer3 sw while you can not
assign IP address on Layer 3.
