i.e. misfiring takes place.

the vehicle will run but it will harm the engine as auto
ingnition temperature of petrol(246 degree) is higher than
diesel(210 degree),so petrol engine can be run on diesel
but diesel engine cant be run on petrol

if petrol engine is run by diesel sufficient vapourisation
of diesel will not take place in carburettor itself which
will lead to ijection of droplet in cylinder.proper air
fuel mixture will not be obtained resulting in non
functioning of engine.
