I was thinking on chances of candidate who has been called
for only PO(RURAL) are very less.

there are 1162 posts(GEN) for PO and 1010 (Gen) posts for
rural.

1.)going by the ratio 1:3 for candidates shortlisted for
interviews there would around 1162*3=3486 vying for PO
(Urban.and among them if 2500(assumption) are such who have
applied for both Rural and urban,they will automatically be
shortlisted for RURAL as well and will be among the top
half of the list of the candidates shortlisted for PO
Rural.of the total shortlisted candidates for rural 3030
(1010*3),,,2500 will already be ahead of those who have
been only called for PO (RURAL)in terms of their written
marks.

2.)ALso since for PO rural GD PI is of only 40 marks,,,and
considering the total marks of Written exam 250 it's
weigtage is even less than 20%,,,which further narrow downs
the chance of candidates shortlisted only for PO rural,,as
they won't be able to outperform those 2500 candidates who
are already ahead of them..

I think during the interview they would ask what each
candidate prefers, either rural or urban. So that they will
have an idea of how many students are going to rural out of
those who choose both rural and urban. I am not sure of how
it takes place but yours is an interesting observation. I am
yet to see my call letter.
Btw Vvs, are you following any books for the preparation?

Hey VVS yaar even i was thinking the same on SBI PO
candidates who have been called only for RURAL,,,,
I request people if any one knows more about this to please
let me know so that i can analyse my chances better and
accordingly plan my other thingss!!!!

see you got call for SBI PO only as you might had not opted
for the option of appearing in both SBI PO and SBI PO
(Rural)...

I think may be because of this you could not pick my
concerns and of others like me,,,,

My interview on 1/11 in chennai

and also any idea if you have of how many candidates have
been shortlisted for GD/PI,,,,as though SBI says it calls
jin ratio not more than 1:3
but i have seen on various sites saying around 7000
candidates have been shortlistd,,,,

HI..This is shreya..I m working in dena bank as clerk..i m in probationary period..I wanted to apply for probationary officer exams of various banks.. In the ad they mention that u have to apply through appropriate channel in case u are already employed with psu bank.. What does it mean? Will i have to each time take a NOC from my bank? Wont that make a bad impression of me in dena bank? Also what if i dont tell them that i am currently employed ? How do u guys deal with it??

Is an RBI Grade B officer likely to be transferred once he is allocated a position at one of the RBI branches? I am currently a PO in SBI. Compared to that, can you kindly inform me: 1) Is the chance to be allocated to your home state more in RBI? 2)Is an RBI Grade B officer likely to be transferred once he is allocated a position at one of the RBI branches? 3) Is the salary,job satisfaction, comparable workload, pension etc substantially better in RBI than in SBI?
