Answer / kundanmalani1990
b'cz the form factor is RMS value /average value =1.11 and
the form factor is the pure sine wave.

Answer / lokesh choudhary
Becoz of form factor 1.11
so we do transmission on multiple of 11
so that we can decrease the losses

Answer / prateek gupta
we all know that form factor = rms value/peak value
the power which is generated at 11 kv it is a multipication
of formfactor that is 1.1.
also the insulation losses is also minimum at 11 kv.

aBOVE answers are correct and also the insulator disk are
designed to bear 11KV so in multiple of that we can decide
the transmission voltage for insulator string conviniency

Answer / nikhil anand
Due to form factor
Rms value/avg value gives form factor 1.11
So we generate power at multiple of 11.

we generate electricity in the multiple of form factor
becausehe effect of ac current should be as dc current

Answer / siva
the transformer stepup and step down ratio should be a whole
number so tat we go for multiples of eleven.for example
11kv/440v means the ratio will be 25:1.

Answer / iti
we generate power at multiples of 11 because there is 10%
loss in transmission of power over transmission line.i.e.
for every 100V, 10V is lost in losses. thus we increment it
10% and then send from the sending end such that we may
receive the required at receiveng station.

We have 11kV/110V three phase indoor potential transformer in 66/11kV Sub-station, where the failure of PT is frequently happening and the rating of the PT is 0.2 class accuracy, with primary star and seconday (two cores) star connected. Some experts has suggested to not to connect the PT Primary neutral to the ground because when transformer neutal NCT connection is loose; the faulty current will flow through the PT primary neutral, resulting into failure of PT. My question is: Is it necessary to remove the primary neutral connection of the PT from ground? if not, what would be the reason for failure of PT. Please guide me.
