Why is antenna elevation angle at the ground station for
satellite communication always kept above 5 degrees?

(1)For a satellite to be visible from the earth station.
(2)If the elevation angle is below certain value there will be interference with the ground reflected wave.

if elevation angle below 5 degree then radio wave propagating through the atmosphere are more affected by noise and attenuation
