Above answer is all most correct but not correct.let me
explain in detail.In interview it may also called as
"workflow of defect tracking"
or bug life cycle.
New :At this stage buy is new one for development dept.
Open :Lead manager of developer will open buy report for
review.
Assign :Now lead manager of developer will assign to
developer.
Fix :Now developer will fix the bug and report to their
lead manager.
Test :Tester will do test on that particular module.
Close :Now Tester will close the report.
These is bug life cycle, but there are other three more
option are there
Re-open: These is for tester to re-open report at any stage.
Reject : Lead manager of developer may reject the error
report from tester.because it may not be error.
Defered/
Postpone:Lead manager may postpone the error report.
Because that error may not important to these
particular module.It may be fix in next module.
