In pc 4 HDD can be connected it may be ide or sata

It all depends on your motherboard and case. I can have 8
drives in my case, but with my motherboard I can only have 8
SATA connections. So if you want an optical drive you have
to sacrifice a HDD. However with HDD's being as cheap as
they are you shouldnt need too many

On a single Hi-end motherboard a maximum of 14 HHDs can be connected at the same time (4 IDE HDD and 10 SATA HDD). Standard motherboards have 4 SATA connectors and 2 IDE connectors which total upto 8 HDDs a the same time.
Also if the motherboard is having only IDE connectors then only 4 HDDs can be connected max.
Completely depends on the motherboard.

Hi,
We can connect 2 HardDisk to a system one will be primary
hdd and the other will be sencodary Hdd and this should be
make out from IDE cable which hdd to be made primary and
which to be secondary hdd.
