Answer / vishal
differential relay operates when the phasor difference of two or more electrical quty exceeds a pre determined limit.
in case of power transformers the vectors compared are the current entering and leaving the winding
..if the current entering is more ,indication of fault and relay operates

CT connections from primary side & secondary side are
connected together in the differential relay if there is
any difference current or fault current flows there above
the preset time & value of current than the relay operates.

in differential relay we use to the differential principle
means in it we compare to the similar actuating Quantity.
Differential relays are used to determine the inter turn
Fault

Why the dc voltage drop during starting of emergency lube oil pump? The Voltage drop from 135kv to 125 kv for one min. before re-establish to 135kv?
I'm generating a pulse of 3V with frequency 80Hz (12.5ms time period) and pulse duration 0.125ms and feeding it to a transformer since i want the pulse to get amplified around 60V. At the output amplification s happening but the pulse is changed to a spike, can you tell me what could be the reason? (an ordinary transformer 220V-12V stepdown transformer is reverse connected ie. now it is 12V-220V stepup and voltage amplification happens)
