what is IDMT relay...

Answer / rakesh kumar

An inverse definite time minimum relay as the name suggests
shows a an inverse behaviour that is the operating time is
inversely proportional to the magnitude of fault current,
however the operating characteristics become constant once
the pick up value of the relay is attained , this is
achieved by using a core material that saturates at the
pick up value of the relay

Is This Answer Correct ?    6 Yes 1 No

what is IDMT relay...

Answer / aravind

Inverse definite mean time relay. relay will operates in
less time if the fault current increases. With the help of
IDMT curve or gragh we can find out the operating time of
the relay.
