constituted the largest chunk of the army of the sultanate
and finally almost all civil and military officers of the
sultanate are iqtadars.

Iqta system introduced by Delhi Sultanates was a form of
land grants. Nobles granted land and assigned for the
collectionn of revenue (jijia) and maintained troops fro
the Sultan. They were called muqti. But they did not have
the ownership of the land. After meeting their personal
and military expenses they had to remit the revenue to the
central treasury. The

iqtadari was a unique type of land distribution and
administrative system evolved during the sultanate
period . under dis period every nobel were granted land and
were suppose to collect revenue and maintain an army for
sultan every work was done by the nobels but they did not
had any right over lands .
