h+w=91---- 1
let y no.of yrs back
h-y=w---- 2
also 2(w-h)=h----- 3
solving 2and 3 we get
w=3y
h=4y
put in 1
y=13

let current age be H and W
H + W = 91
also the let the Y years before Husband is same age as
Wife's current age:
H - Y = W
Also, husband is currently twice the age of wife's age Y
years ago.
H = 2 ( W - Y)
Solving FOR Y FIRST:
2W - 2Y = H
W - Y = H
=================
W=3Y
Now, H =2(2Y)=4Y
7Y= 91
so, Y =91/7=13
so W=39 and H=52

Answer / prexa
LET h and w be present age of husband and wife respectively.
so h+w=91--------------(1)
Now, y years back husbands age was as same as that of wife's now.
so h-y=w---------------(2)
and y years back wife's age was w-y.
Hence present age of husband is twice that of wifes age y years back
so h=2(w-y)----------------(3)
solving equation (1),(2),(3)
we get h=52 and w=39

Let H be husband's current age,
W be wife's current age,
H' be husband's age years back,
W' be wife's age years back.
What's already given is
H + W = 91............eq1
H = 2W'..................eq2
H' = W....................eq3
But we know that current age difference and age difference years back is the same, therefore ;
H - W = H' - W'.........eq4
substituting eq2&eq3 into eq4, we have,
H - W = W- H/2
--> H + H/2 = W + W
--> 3/2H = 2W
--> H = 4/3W..........eq5
substituting eq5 into eq1 we have
4/3W + W = 91
--> 7/3 W = 91
--> W = 91×3/7
--> W= 39
from eq 1 we have H = 91- W
H = 91- 39 = 52
Therefore husband is 52 years of age while wife is 39 years of age.

husband + wife combined age = 91;
2h + w = 91;
given wife age half from his husband age now
so
husband age now is = 2h;
from this wife age = 2h/2 = h;
put into equation
2h + h = 91;
3h = 91;
h = 91/3(age is in years and months);
so (h = 30 years and 4 months);
here this (h) is wife age....
thanks

Answer / arun gupta
x= husband
y= wife
x+y= 91 (given)-(a)
x= 2y (given)
putting x in (a)
2y+y= 91
i.e
3y= 91
i.e
y= 30.3
It means wife's age= 30.3
Proof:-
since husband's age is twice of wife's age i.e
30.3*2= 60.6
And the combined age for both is 91, which is
60.6+30.3= 90.9 which can be counted as 91.
