Lightning arrester is the device to protect the Equipments
and buildings which is located in very hight. Lightning
stoke is attack the tallest point in the area. So we are
mounting the lightning arrester at the highest level and it
will grounded through proper arrangements and accessories.
Mostly GI is used and the best one is copper arrester. This
copper or GI is connected with downleads or down conductor
and it terminates to the Lightning Earth pit. To avoid the
lightning damages we are using the lightning protection system.

Lighting aresster(Surge arrester) is used for protction of
elctrical equipments(i.e. Transformer, Circuit
breaker...etc) against lighting strok. it is available in
two type. Gap less Arrester (i.e. Zno arrester) & with Gap
Arrester (in air). when its maximum continues operating
voltage exceeds it will get shorted(Non linear
charactersitc) and the lighting strok passes through it o
earth, without damaging the equipment next to it.

The Lightning Arrester is used to prevent the particular
component(consider Industry, Shops, Home,.. etc). When
clouds collided each other the charger present in clouds are
discharged, when these forms lightning(in terms of MEGA
AMPS)and fall where the low potential areas. So Lightning
Arrester made as low potential and less resistance path so
these charges are DUMPED here.

LA has discharge the High voltage to earth .In industry
Thyristor type lighting arrestor used ,because of in this
rod gaps are there. This LA rating has 10KA

Lighting arester is the matelic (mostly copper made)
arrangement/device or we can say like antina in the shape of
Hunuman G gadha type , Trishul type, Road Type. which used
for grounding the lighting surges or can say the Heavy
Current flow from sky in raini days. Its provide the
shortest path for Heavy Current flow in minimum time
without damageing the building ,Equipment , through copper
wire/GI strip-clamped and connecte in to the earting pits
in which the Earthing had done already like GI/Pipe/Plate/
Gel earthing .out side of Building, chimini etc. it is
mounted on top up of the object according to safetty point
of vew, size ,area wise
