1.Energy signals are time limited while power signals can
exist over infinite time.
2.Non periodic signals are energy signals while power
signals are periodic.

Those signals which has finite energy
and zero avg power is called energy
signals,all practical non periodic sisgnal
which r defined over finite time r energy
signals....ie.0<E<infinity......
Power signals r those signals which hav
finite avg power and infinite
energy....they r periodic signals

1.Energy and power signals are both mutually exclusive,i.e they cannot occur simultaneously.
2.Enery signals amplitude value at -inf and +inf must approach 0. Power signals on the other hand have constant amplitude at both the entities.
3.All periodic signals are power signals. However the converse is not true.
4.Energy signals have 0 power while power signals have infinite energy.
5.Energy signal+Power signal=Power signal.

1) A rising exponential signal or rising linear signal defined for infinite time is not energy nor power signal signal because area under the curve is infinity.
2) a decaying exp. singal or decaying linear signal that comes to zero at infinity is an energy signal but not power signal.
3) a constant amplitude sinusoidal or any periodic signal that is defined for infinte time is a Power signal but not energy signal. This type of signals are marginally stable signal.

The power of a signal is the sum of the absolute squares of its time-domain samples divided by the signal length, or, equivalently, the square of its RMS level. The function bandpower allows you to calculate signal power in one step.
If we assume for definiteness a unit load (a 1 $Omega$ resistor), then if $f(t)$ is the voltage across the resistor or the current through the resistor, then the energy dissipated is
egin{displaymath}E_f = int_{-infty}^infty f^2(t) dt end{displaymath}
If this quantity is finite, then $f(t)$ is said to be an energy signal .

i think dat energy s/g n power s/g are nt any complementry topics to give differences..... they r jst related....
any normal non periodic s/g is energy s/g coz energy can be in any form..... i.e d energy s/g is like an information s/g... coz d information is never repeated all time
while power is the flow of energy... hence power signal mst contain energy....

The difference between power signal and energy signal is
that the power signal indicate the power is come into our
path.OR in other word we understand that the some electric
power is come our instrument, which is indicated by led or
other instruments we called power is come.
and energy siganl is indicated how many energy remaning in
our instument/machine.
e.g our mobile's battery is indicated how many time
remaining to our mobile battery is empty so it is called
energy signal.
IN SHORT THE POWER SIGNAL IS INDICATED THE POWER IS COME TO
OUR PATH/INSTRUMENT AND ENERGY SIGNAL IS INDICATED ONLY HOW
MANY ENERGY IS REMAIN.
