why we used servo motor insted of inducation motor?
Answer / tanmay maheshwari
Servo motors are used for testing faulty conditions as they
rotates only when an error signal comes to its control winding.
when an error(deviation from a rated speed) occurs in the
system, the control winding which is placed 90 degree to the
main winding generates a reverse torque hence regulating the
speed.
So to work properly, torque should vary linearly with speed
such characterstics are not found in induction motor and
hence they can't be used for such purpose
