3ph squirrel cage induction motors can also be used as
generators. The motor will act as generator when its rotor
speed is more than the synchronous speed which increases
the residual magnetism.
i.e. the rotor must be spun just faster than its rated
speed.

3 phase induction motor can be converted to Generator by
increasing the rotor speed above the synch. speed or the
slip is greater than one, name as Induction Generator it's
application is used in the wind power.

Yes , induction motor can be used as a induction generator. An overexcited induction motor with its rotor running at a speed greater than synchronous speed at negative slip starts generating electricity(a.c).At negetive slip the load resistance R(mech)=(R2/s)*1-s instead of absorbimg power act as a source of power.
This type of generator is not self-staring,the stator requires continous 3-phase supply which is why a 3-phase delta connected capacitor bank is always placed across it inorder to prvide residual mag. flux....
They are used in wind energy production, domestic geerators etc

induction motor can be used as a induction generator, when
its speed is increased above the sync. speed.becoz slip
bcomes negative and rotor rotates in opposite direction.
