No effect on ammeter.In EM type Watt meter and energy meter
the readings reversed.In ETVM import and export interchange.

one phase is reversed then the Energy meter will not give correct reading
but 3 phases are reversed then the current direction shown are wrong and the reading of MW ,MVAR are showing import instead of export

incase protcetion CT not protective the equipment, so direction is must.

It only has an effect where the direction of current flow
is important. For example monitoring import and export of
power.
