r.m.s value of a quantity is the root.mean.square value of it.
"Root mean square or rms value of ac" is the dc equiivalent
which when flow through a unit resistance produce the same
amount of heat produced by the dc current. It is 0.707
TIMES THE MAXIMUM VALUE.
