Traffic in a city is equivalent to original inhabitants lifestyle and migrator's sense of belonging-ness to the city.
The observations are based on 2 decades driving experience in this city & I am proud to say I belong to.
Below are few factors influence traffic havoc in city
- First of all, sudden surge of development with poor infrastructure planning (like lack of roadside drainage for rain water, lack of foot path, narrower roads for dense traffic)
- Blame the public as well as police for not following rules
-- More than 3 times I was severely hit by vehicles behind me on stopping to red signal(mean punished for following traffic rules) while police cleaning his nostrils/watching the scene with neutrality. Police partially correct in claiming public don't follow the rules as once one of police man left the traffic policing, ran behind the hit and run violator to catch but returned to me only to say sorry on behalf of the offender.
-- Triple/four member or beyond riding in 2 wheeler a common sight earlier due to communal sensitive factor, though its reduced to major extent now.
So its collective responsibility of government, police and public
to make sense of traffic and can happen only when all these group of bodies accept and adhere to Hyderabad belonging-ness and are willing, contribute to make it better living place as their duty with pleasure.
